Tower Bloxx Deluxe
Action & Arcade Games June 9th, 2008
Fresh from Digital Chocolate (gotta love their name) is the PC version of their award winning game, Tower Bloxx, aptly renamed the Tower Bloxx Deluxe game. With the same addictive and original game play comes a version with a freshly ramped-up graphic quality. And just like the original game, you get to satisfy the Tower Toons once again by providing them housing not confided by real-life building standards.
To the uninitiated, the objective of Tower Bloxx Deluxe is for you to stack tower pieces and provide housing to the city after being commissioned by Mayor A. Z. Millspaugh and city architect, Ava Dandelion. Starting with a certain district (you can freely name yourself), you fill the city with new population and unlock more tower features as you go along the way. And once you finish repopulating a district, you move to the next one until you satisfy the needs of Millspaugh’s thriving city.
Towers are classified as either a blue residential, red commercial, green office or a yellow luxury tower and each of them bringing in a set range of population and going only as high as their upgrade permits. Basically, you operate an unstable crane as you drop each tower block on top of the first one and just try to keep your tower upright by landing them perfectly on each other. Tower planning also comes into play since each tower needs specific criteria for them to be built. For example, red commercials must have a blue residential neighbor. And this element brings great challenge to the game if you really want your population as max as possible.
The Tower Bloxx Deluxe game is really one visually stunning experience and I liked the accompanying music too. The only downside to this game would be the repetitive game play, but tower-stacking lovers will definitely find this installment very addictive and fun. Besides, the game is very much challenging too and I’ll bet you won’t master this game in one sitting even if you already tried your best.

P.S. You just gotta love the different game modes. If you’re skillful enough, you might even reach up your tower into outer space in the Quick Game mode. Now, that’s one hell of an imaginative game, no?
