Honestly, golf is the one sport that I really don’t get. For me, it’s neither exciting nor fun, and since the Putt Base game, from the name itself, is a game derived from such a boring sport, I expected much of the same. But still, I did play the game (because mostly it’s on my to-do list for this week), and I honestly find it very addictive and fun. Owe it all to being a puzzle flash game, ok? I still don’t like golf.

Anyway, your role in Putt Base is to drive the golf ball into the hole, it’s as simple as that. Made by Gawang Jayc for the portal UGOPlayer, Putt Base is not your average traditional golf, but a puzzle game that involves tricky situations and trajectory-based physics. Your main objective is to show your ball the shortest way towards the goal, and for you to do that, you have to use special blocks to guide the ball in the correct direction.

There are 3 types of blocks in this game and each of them ranges in terms of bounciness and slipperiness. Jelly blocks are only slippery, Bumpers are only bouncy, and Normal blocks lies between the two. Limited number of special blocks will be available for each level and you really don’t need to use them all for a solution. In fact, you’re even awarded in points for having unused blocks in your arsenal. Aside from this, points are also garnered for distance traveled and the time it took you in arriving at a solution.

And since you will definitely want to progress your game, you got to have unlock the levels too. Keys are awarded for finishing each level, but if you’re up for the challenge, you can also aim for bronze, silver or gold medals for achieving target points.

Putt Base is really one addicting puzzle game and I liked the spin-off it presents from traditional golf. The levels progress in challenge too, but you’ll find the learning curve to be relaxed as long as you follow the planned sequence in levels.
