Metro.Siberia Underground Game Review
Online Games February 28th, 2008It’s been so long since I last played a one-button game that really rocks. And when I say one-button, I do really mean that you get to use only 1 keyboard button to play our featured game for today. It’s simple, it’s addictive and it plays just like the classic Helicopter game that we all used to love… but with added enhancements of course.
The name is Metro.Siberia Underground, a flash game developed from the genius of Tommy Salomonsson and the art and sounds of Simon Stalenhag. This is such a simple game with simple objectives where you’ll have to dodge walls, structures and other floating contraptions in order to get your ship to reach the intended goal. As I said before, just like the Helicopter game right?
Anyways, the mechanics of the game requires you to navigate through 3 Siberian underground systems as you fight the pull of gravity by pressing and holding spacebar to add to your ship’s upward thrust. Your choice between the 3 systems will determine the game’s speed and difficulty, and to tell you the truth, The.Gysi.Express (3rd level) is already next to impossible to finish. Just my little extra heads-up for you guys before you try the game.
The Review
Actually, the Metro.Siberia Underground game had already been released since December 2007, but I can’t just pass up the opportunity to introduce you all to this fun game. The graphics are really one of a kind for a simple game and the music really adds to the overall fun. The challenge is really a killer too on the 3rd level which means that you’ll be spending quite a number of hours in frustration just to beat this one.
Heck, they even throw out a very good introduction video made by Andreas Lagergren before the start of the game, which I can say, is one of the best credit intros I’ve seen so far.
As I had said, the game can get really frustrating to the point that you might just quit playing it. That’s because when you die, you have to start at the very beginning. What this game really needs are some checkpoints to save your progress, otherwise, it just takes massive skill to beat.
Anyways, just give it a try yourself. Get to play Metro.Siberia Underground here.
