Egyptian Ball
Posted by Ruff on April 4th, 2008The Egyptian Ball game is a Brick Buster casual game genre installment coming from EleFun Games where you travel back in time to Ancient Egypt, armed with a magical-mechanical bat of some sort while tossing away the all-powerful Egyptian Ball.
Honestly though, I haven’t experienced any kind of story in-game, so I guess I’ll just let you guys get a grip of the game’s story from the developers themselves:
Egyptian Ball is a new game by EleFun Games company which will take you back to the remote past, to Ancient Egypt which was ruled by the most powerful people — the pharaohs. You will dive into the boiling pot of terrible war of gods! The temples round about will be destroyed, and you will stand up shoulder to shoulder with those who will build a temple of new faith after deposition of all the enemies of a new pharaoh and his god to the fiery abyss!
Well, basically, the mechanics of the Egyptian Ball game is just like any other Brick Buster game that you may have played before. And that is to cause enough mayhem and destruction on a particular stage until you lay waste to all standing structures, while collecting a wide array of power-ups along the way. What’s new about this game though is that unlike the very common side-view action in most games of this type, you’re given a 3D perspective of your play area. And as with any other innovation, this new feature adds its own advantages and disadvantages to the game.
The Review
One thing I know is that the Egyptian Ball game is really quite unique and graphically beautiful with its 3D perspective. However, one downside to this uniqueness is that most of the time, your Egyptian Ball is hidden from you when shot at the structure’s background. This also presents quite a challenge and I liked it a lot, but it can get a little annoying on some levels too, so your reflex plays a big role.
The game play is very smooth and as I said earlier, the 3D graphics is really awesome. The music blends well with the Egyptian theme but don’t expect much because it’s also the same music running over and over again throughout the whole game. Not a big deal though, because with the fast-paced Brick Buster action, you won’t even have time to take notice of the sound anyway.
I noticed too that the Egyptian Ball game can be very straightforward and quite short. I’m guessing that you’ll spend a maximum of about 2-4 hours in finishing this game because during my testing time, I averaged at about 1 minute and 30 seconds on each level. But I guess that also depends on your own playing style so just play the game to check it out yourself.
Play the Egyptian Ball game here.
