The Boombot game is about a cute little robot in need of your help to pass through all the portals of his world. Equipped with purely explosion-resistant coating, there’s only one thing that Boombot lacks, and that is movement functions. That’s where you come in, as you try to blast him towards each level’s doorway by using limited bombs at your disposal.
The objective of Boombot, as was written earlier, is to make your little robot reach the doorway for each level. Click the mouse on where you want to set up your bomb, press until the desired consistency is achieved, and release to make it go boom! Of course, there are also walls, boxes and bricks you have to get rid off before moving the robot, and each level’s puzzle will only get harder as the levels go by. In fact, strategy and timing are the skills used primarily on this game since you’re also given only a limited number of bombs for use in each area.
Throughout all the levels, you’ll be presented with various exploding paraphernalia for you to use. TNT’s, exploding gels and oil barrels run aplenty in the game, and it’s up to your judgment on whether to use these items or not. Just like many puzzle games, exploding items are there to either make or break your progress, and that’s why you have to think first before you act.
Boombot is one fun, innovative and challenging game. I liked all the cutesy reactions of the robot after being bombed showing that he either likes it or maybe he gets tickled by all those exploding things. And even though he seems to be quite indestructible at first, it appears that electricity can also harm the little guy on later levels where you’ll also have to avoid alternating electrical currents.
It’s very much addictive too and I bet this one’s going to keep you company for hours until end.
